In collaboration with Zongze Chen, Excuse Generator is a physical phone plugin designed to generate absurd excuses to turn down all kinds of invitations and really makes you consider your anti-social tendencies. It acts as a keyboard that can be plugged into any phone with a USB-C port. It is small, lightweight, and doesn’t require a battery or network to operate.
Cycle through the seemingly endless list of computationally generated excuses from a text library that we manually wrote. When the perfect excuse appears, press the button down to immediately send the text.
